CANDLE MAGIC RITUAL FOR RAPID EMPOWERMENT

Monday's Ruler: Luna, our ever-changing Moon
Monday's magic involves emotions and receptivity, women in our lives and our deepest needs and desires; this is a time for rituals of divination, emotional balance and nurturing ourselves and others. It would be an exceptional day to do ritual or focused meditation of any sort related to psychic, domestic, and other lunar matters. Light a white or silver candle to represent the lunar energies and Deities… According to ancient folklore, silver, white and opalescent colors and the scent of jasmine or gardenia share the vibration of Luna, and can help one attune to the lunar energies of the waxing and waning cycles.

Moon in Taurus
The Moon is in the sign of Taurus, and the energies will feel considerably more grounded and practical. When the Moon is in Taurus, the mood will be more concerned with comfort, security and pleasure. Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet that represents not only love, but all things sensual, from art to food to sexual appetite. The Taurus Moon is generally a good time to work on financial matters, as well as creative ones. Crate and altar for rituals to Venus, for all matters that are under Her rule, including love, pleasure, beauty, and fertility.

When the Moon is in Gemini, mental energy is high, and conversation can be fast and furious! Gemini energy is restless, curious, and intellectual; variety is the name of the game. Not a time to follow routine… anything new and intriguing or intellectually stimulating should be on the agenda now. A day when everyone could call, "just to talk"... unplug the phone if you need to get any work done! Communication and information overload... this is a great time for research and intellectual pursuits.

CANDLE MAGIC RITUAL FOR RAPID EMPOWERMENT
Today’s intense energies for rapid personal change create a prime opportunity for you to make a decision that will lead to rapid self-empowerment.

What is the ONE thing that would make you feel more powerful … but can require cutting out someone or, a bad habit … or a negative thought pattern?

The Sun represents the SELF, and it is in a harmonious aspect with Uranus, the planet of sudden changes, revolution, futuristic vision, and innovation.

What does that bring to mind when it comes to the things you need to let go of in order to be your best, mighty self? Since we are in a waning moon phase, the energy for letting go is strong. You might want to do the waning moon ritual for letting go (see at the top of the page) before doing today’s solar ritual.

Note: the following items for ritual are not necessary, but nice if you have them. You can always substitute a white candle for any colors mentioned here. It is nice to represent the four elements in some way on the altar, with the candle representing the fire element.

You will want to perform this ritual during the solar hour, preferably in the morning.

What you will need:
yellow or gold candle for THE SUN
Solar oil
bowl of water (water element)
a stone or bowl of salt (earth element)
incense (air element) or essential oil diffuser with solar oil
small piece of paper, pen
magical diary

Light your incense.

Write down what you would like to focus on during this ritual … what are you really ready to let go of that is standing in the way of your full power? Write it down, but best to focus on one specific thing rather than several at once. If you can think of one word or phrase that embodies the essence of what you are working on, create a phrase you can repeat while you do your ritual.

Hold the candle in your hands, while thinking about the intention of your ritual, and FEEL it in your heart center … what is setting your heart afire? I have said this before …

If you aren’t excited to the point of TINGLE, your goal is just not big enough.

If you have solar oil (rosemary, frankincense, cinnamon are some examples) anoint your candle with it as you chant your phrase.

When you feel your candle is ready, place it one your altar and light it.

Meditate as your candle burns. You can ask for wisdom or guidance, charge magical objects, or any number of things when you are in sacred space.

You can allow your candle to burn all the way down, or perform the rituals for three days in a row, always during the Solar hour, letting the candle burn all the way down on the third day.

After your ritual, record everything you can in your magical diary, including date, time, what was on your altar, what you wrote on your note, what you felt, revelations you had, etc.

When you are finished with your ritual you can take the magical phrase that you placed under your candle and wear it like a good luck charm, bury it in a special place for it to grow, or burn it to release it to the spirit realm.
