New Moon in Leo: Courageous Mastery
Sunday, Aug 8th, 2021  [at 9.50 am edt - 16 deg 14’]

This NEW MOON IN LEO is about letting your light shine.  Brightly. 
Mercury, the planet of communication, eloquence, and commerce, joins the Sun and Moon in Leo, and they have a few things to say.  

The mind is aligned with WILL [the Sun] and DESIRE [the Moon] … 
It’s time to open the door … and courageously walk through it.

The Sun is the ruler of the sign Leo, and the call for authenticity is not to be denied.   
If you have been feeling the need to change course, set a new goal, or let go of an outmoded life circumstance, now is the time.  

Saturn, the planet that rules discipline and mastery, is in Aquarius, opposite the Leo planets.  
Saturn calls for us to choose our words and creative strategy wisely; what are you ready to stand by, with patience, to earn your credentials?  How far are you willing to go to “walk your talk”?  

Saturn builds things to last, but usually, it takes a lot longer to create something that’s solid enough to take a few hits along the way.  There are no get-rich-quick schemes or shortcuts where Saturn is concerned.  

This is the time to meditate on what you are willing to dedicate yourself to … fully.

Ritual.
What do I do at the dark of the moon? 

I personally pay homage to the Goddess Hekate, and go deep into the dark unknown. 

I ask for clarity, insight, and release, preparing for the next waxing moon cycle that is forthcoming.  I prepare an elaborate altar to Her, and spend time during the dark moon to commune and connect with the deeper realms. (I also do daily rituals in order to maintain our connection and explore the beyond.)

What can you do for the new moon?
On the day of the new moon, clear your home; take a ritual bath; write down what you want to release on small slips of paper and burn them; let go of expectations, and ask for inspiration.  

On what issues are you hoping to find clarity?  
Write down your questions, and place them on your altar.  Ask out loud that you want guidance from your spirit guides about this issue.  Give them an offering of incense and water, outdoors or on your window sill, every day.  Thank them for their guidance, and watch your dreams, and look for synchronicities to answer your call for clarity. 

Where the new moon falls in your chart indicates the area of your life that could be quite fruitful in your personal life for the next waxing moon phase.

The rituals posted here will be well into the waxing cycle, what I’ve found to be the best time to create rituals of increase and creation.  

You can add any wishes or goals to your ritual; you are not limited to the issues associated with the rising sign [though I do recommend giving those issues some time, too!]

Use your intuition and imagination when you build your altars; a sincere “reaching out” to the planetary deities is more important than the “right” colored candle or phrase. 

Building a long-term relationship with the planetary deities is a process, and not to be approached flippantly.  Respect, love, and reverence go a long, long way!
