Wednesday's magic involves communication in all forms, such as writing, phone calls, interviews, contacts, computers, electronics, and networking. Intellectual matters are also under Mercury's rule, as well as mental skills. Hermes, his Greek form, is also the god of merchants, commerce, and travelers. Meditation on expanding intellectual abilities, improving memory, eloquence, and writing projects, or learning new subjects can be effective now by attuning Mercury's vibration. According to ancient folklore, the color orange and the scent of lavender share Mercury's vibration, and can help one attune to the gifts of "The Messenger God".
TODAY’S OVERVIEW
The day’s energies are innovative, and solutions could be coming out of left field, with the early morning Moon / Uranus trine [Virgo, Taurus at 14 deg 15’]. You might have even dreamt of something that could offer some insights that could seem a bit … unusual. Give them a chance.
The positive vibes flow all day, building to the Sun / Moon sextile all day [Cancer, Virgo at 22 deg 49’].
So … those aspects make today especially good for Mercury Magic, since Mercury rules Virgo … and today’s Virgo Moon is all about getting it right.

I do remember telling you all that there are going to be some tough times this year, and that you can mitigate some of that crap by lighting a candle and talkin’ to some spirits.
You all know that, though, or you wouldn’t be subscribed to this here list!
So … in true Virgo form: here’s the drill.
plan your ritual (don’t know what to do? contact me)
Use today’s energies to clarify your ideas about what it is you want to manifest (see Mercury ritual, below)
make a plan for how you will support your magic on the 3rd dimension (the 3rd dimension requires work … yaaas?)
remember to only enchant a goal you could do without magic in the real world … the magic only makes it more likely to happen. This is practical magic, for pragmatic witches.
MERCURY MAGIC
I recommend doing this ritual in the first hour after sunrise, which always correlates with the daily planetary energy.
Missed the sunrise? No worries. There are several more within a day [see planetary hours links, below.]
Make an altar to Mercury / Hermes:
orange candles for Mercury (fire element)
incense (air element)
a bowl of water (representing the water element)
some salt or a crystal (earth)
Don’t worry if you don’t have it all. You true intention and proper timing go a lot further than just the right tools (though the right tools can make it easier to connect, sometimes.)
Read or listen to the Orphic Hymn to Hermes (google it, or listen to several versions on youtube)

Write down your petition to Hermes, and ask for His help in all matters under His rule. Place it under your candle, and light the candle during a Mercury hour today. If you can’t burn it all the way down, do it again next week, Wednesday during a Mercury hour.
